Imagine choosing your horse while they’re still young, then being part of their journey all the way to becoming your trusted riding partner.

At Drifting Sands we’re offering a unique opportunity to purchase a young horse and have them raised, handled, educated and started under saddle — while you learn alongside them every step of the way.

YOUR HORSE’S JOURNEY

6–12 MONTHS

Choose your young horse and begin the journey.

6 MONTHS–2 YEARS

Regular handling, confidence building, grooming, hoof care, worming and groundwork.

You’ll be encouraged to visit, interact with your horse and develop your partnership.

2 YEARS

Structured, more advanced groundwork begins, building the foundations for a confident riding horse.

2½ YEARS

Your horse begins their ridden education, with up to six months of professional training.

3 YEARS Graduation! Your horse is ready to go home — and, importantly, you’re ready too.

WE DON’T JUST EDUCATE THE HORSE — WE HELP YOU BUILD A PARTNERSHIP

Throughout the program you’ll have opportunities to:

* Take lessons with your horse

* Attend clinics

* Join us on trail rides

* Learn how your horse is trained

* Build confidence and communication

* Develop a genuine partnership before your horse comes home

Each horse is trained according to their physical and mental development. If additional time is required to meet the standards of Drifting Sands Horsemanship, the training program may be extended.
